The Mission of the William Stanley Foundation is to assist individuals directly who are motivated and have a financial need in the areas of Education, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurship. Educational Institutions, Organizations, and Nonprofits which have worthwhile programs and projects to help individuals are welcome to apply for grants as well.
Founded by Marine Corps veteran, Money Coach, and Author William Stanley (also known as "Money Coach Bill,") and his trusted dog, "Zorro the Money Dog," the William Stanley Foundation is a self-funded nonprofit corporation registered with the state of Colorado. Foundation operations began in November 2020. 501(c)(3) status was obtained in March 2021. Since then, we have helped hundreds of individuals, organizations, and projects achieve their educational, financial, and entrepreneurial goals worldwide.
The Foundation wants our recipients to be successful in their educational, financial, and entrepreneurial endeavors, and to “pay it forward” in the future so our society benefits from philanthropy and joint prosperity for generations to come. We believe in small grants at the ground level for those who need it most.
For assistance to individuals, we emphasize the subject area, the enthusiasm, and the lack of monetary resources. For group projects, we focus on the overall impact of the grant. The Foundation is fully funded; we hope to operate for decades. Our grants, therefore, are limited to a maximum of $2000 per person or organization each year. We have no paid positions because we want our grant money to be used to help those who will benefit the most.
We offer three types of grants--Education (educational development), Financial Literacy (support personal financial literacy), and Entrepreneurship (one-time small business grant for your entrepreneurial idea). Please note, we help identified individuals and activities. We do not provide grants as donations or put money into general funds.
The William Stanley Foundation is a private nonprofit corporation with 501(c)(3) status. We started operations in November 2020. Our mission is to help deserving individuals in the areas of Education, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurship.
We work directly with individuals and through organizations and nonprofits to support individuals directly and through programs. Self-funded, we don’t ask for money, but as a registered nonprofit, money received is deductible. We have minimal operational costs; no employees, and no pay for Officers or Board Members.
William and Zorro the Dog love to build relationships with local business owners and especially enjoy hand delivering grant checks to small local business owners of all backgrounds and ages. View recipients on our Past Grantees page. Learn more about our grant types, below.
